Pedostibes tuberculosus - Malabar Tree Toad



This species is very rare. It is semi-arboreal and it inhabits the montane moist evergreen forests and wetlands of the Western Ghats of India, at elevations of 300-1,800m asl.
 
Conservation Status:

 

 

 

 
According to the IUCN Red List assessment, the population of this species is declining. The current population size is unknown. The Extent of Occurrence is less than 5,000 sq km. The threat to its persistence comes from habitat disturbances due to the conversion of forests into non-timber plantations and other human encroachment.
