This species is rare and endemic to the part of Western Ghats in Maharashtra. It inhabits inland wetlands and tropical moist evergreen forests of the Ghats (mainly found in Konya Valley, Bhimashankar, and Amboli), at heights ranging from 200m to 1,200m asl.
